Why language-sensitive tutoring is important
Every child brings individual strengths and challenges to everyday school life. One of the biggest hurdles to academic success is the so-called educational vocabulary – special terms that are essential in class but are often not used outside of the school context.
As early as the 2nd grade, teachers assume that children understand and can use these terms in order to recognize connections, develop their own ideas and participate successfully in class. This poses a particular challenge for children who speak a different language at home. They not only have to learn new content, but also find their way around a language that they may not yet be completely familiar with.

Frequently asked questions
How do I register my child?
Registration can be done either online via the website, by telephone or directly on site. A consultation is the first step in determining your individual needs and selecting the right teacher.
Where can I find the registration forms and what do I have to pay attention to?
The registration forms can be found on the website or directly on site. Please make sure to provide all required information completely and correctly. For approval from the city of Leipzig or the job center, you also need the signature of the class teacher and a valid stamp from the school.

What costs will I incur?
If you can present a permit from the city of Leipzig or the job center: none. Payments for private tutoring are agreed upon in the initial consultation.
How often should my child go to tutoring?
This depends on the individual support needs and also on the number of subjects to be supported. We usually recommend once or twice a week.
Where does the tutoring take place?
The lessons can either take place at AKAZA® – close to the center on Hans-Poeche-Str. In most cases, the tutoring takes place at your home: our teacher comes to you. Another option is to conduct the lessons online. Please find out more about this during the initial consultation.
How will I be informed about my child's learning progress?
The teacher is in regular contact with the parents. Learning status and learning protocols are common.
Can I arrange a trial lesson?
No, AKAZA ® does not offer trial lessons. If you are not satisfied with the teacher for your child, please feel free to contact us directly. We will find an alternative solution.
What is the difference between individual and group lessons?
Individual lessons offer individual support. During these hours the teacher can concentrate exclusively on your child and the current tasks. Group lessons (small groups up to a maximum of 6 participants), on the other hand, promote social skills and deal with the learning material together. This then takes place in the rooms of our tutoring school. The prerequisite is that the participating children/young people have approximately the same learning level.
What technical requirements are there for online tutoring?
If you choose an online offer, you will need a computer or laptop at home with an internet connection and a webcam. The installation of special software is not necessary.
Which subjects are offered?
AKAZA® primarily offers support in core subjects such as Mathematics, German, , English and natural sciences. Depending on your needs, AKAZA ® can also support you in other subjects as we have a large network of teachers.
How qualified are the tutors?
The tutors usually have a background in education or study the relevant subject.
Is there special tutoring for exam preparation?
AKAZA ® can of course offer this. However, these tutoring courses depend on the request of the customers.
How flexible are the lesson times?
Class times are very flexible and can be adapted to the needs of students (and parents). There are both afternoon and evening appointments. As a rule, the teacher has direct contact with the parents and both agree on the appropriate appointments together.
How is the quality of the tutoring ensured?
The quality of the tutoring is ensured through regular feedback discussions, learning protocols and continuous further training of the teachers. In addition, observation sessions also take place at irregular intervals, which will of course be communicated to the parents in advance.
How are lessons designed?
The lessons are individually tailored to the needs of the student. There are both structured curricula and flexible approaches that address current academic challenges. As a rule, AKAZA® teachers do not use their own, separate teaching materials but rather work with the children and young people using the textbooks that they already have. This is often more effective when it comes to providing specific assistance and implementation at school.
Do we need additional textbooks or work materials?
No. Please ensure that children and young people have their textbooks and work materials at home and do not leave them at school.
